Home School
It would be more appropriately titled "Hotel School" but you get the point. During our few weeks in the hotel I will be doing school with paisley. Today is brought to you by the letter Ll and the number 3! Paisley has been missing going to school for the past few days, and now that we are settled and things are put in their place we can now get to work! As you can see she LOVES it!

Off to Kindergarten
On Tuesday we were lucky enough to sneak in a tour of Paisley's new school. We saw her classroom and met her teacher, Mrs. Pacey. Paisley instantly loved her, and she loved Paisley. She looked all around the room and loved it. We saw all over the school including, the gym, art class, music class, the library, and computer lab. We were very impressed with all the great programs the school offers. This made paisley super excited to start today!
Paisley got to play with play dough while they waited for everyone else to arrive. She sat next to a girl named Ashley. Maybe they will be best friends!
Paisley was having so much fun she barely had time to say goodbye to us. Jarom on the other hand started screaming and did not want to leave Paisley at school. Jarom's crying then made me and nana start to cry. I can't believe 5 1/2 years have gone by and it's time to go to school. She is such a big girl!

Paisley's Birthday Party
Today was Paisley first friend birthday party! It was a cupcake themed party, and it was tons of fun!! Here is her cute cake!
Jarom getting ready to play pin the sprinkle on the cupcake!
Paisley painting away. She had a lot of fun, and surprisingly didn't pick pink or purple to go on hers.
Paisley's friends were very nice and gave her some very fun toys and games. Lots of princess stuff here!
After the party Jarom liked wearing the blind fold as a headband. Paisley LOVES her new baby alive, but she has already been told we will not be taking advantage of the diaper part of this baby! :)
My cake was awesome if I do say so myself. I added a pink center to the cake. I do have a cupcake mold thing that helped. I also had cupcakes from the left over batter so most kids chose a cupcake instead, so we have LOTS of cake. Anyone want to come over tonight for cake?
The party was a success! Since it was Paisley's first friend party, it was our first time running a party and I was a little nervous. Everyone paints at different speeds and such so I was nervous about the timing of things, luckily in between activities everyone wanted to go downstairs because apparently Paisley has some pretty fun toys! Yay us! It was fun but I'm glad we don't have to do this again for a few years!

Off to School
Paisley is off to her first day of Preschool! She was so excited all morning. She called Jason and got a pep talk from him, (she didn't need it) and off we went. She was happy to take pictures of every little thing.
In front of school!
Good Beginnings Preschool that way
Here is her backpack hook! Right by the OTHER Paisley in her class hook!! I didn't think we'd ever have double name issues in school with her!
She knew right where to go to get the dolls out and start playing. She wasn't nervous at all. Just very excited to go to school! What a big girl she is!

My little girl
I'm sitting in the basement by myself feeling a little lonely and sad. Jason is off on a business trip until Friday night (grumble, grumble) and so I have to be super Mom and do everything for everyone the next couple of days. This is really hard for me. I depend a lot on Jason. I love lunch time when he can help feed people and clean up the mess. I really look forward to five o'clock and handing the kids over to him so I can make dinner in peace, or just run to my bed for 5 minutes of alone time. I miss him!! I'm feeling sad tonight because all of the sudden my baby Paisley is going to school! What happened? Tomorrow is her first day of preschool. I got lucky and her birthday missed the date to start Kindergarten. I'm not ready for Kindergarten, although she might be. Yesterday we had a preschool meeting and she got to play while I listened to them talk about the school and the schedule. She loved it. When I went to pick her up her response was "why did you come back?" I was glad to hear that. Glad that she is well adjusted and can function without her Mom, but still I thought she was my baby. I'm sad that I forgot to have Jason give her a father's blessing at the beginning of the school year. It will just be a week late, so it will be ok, I just need her to have strength for her first day, and I probably need more than her. I've been brave this whole time, but tonight when I tucked her in bed and closed the door I really had to choke back tears. It was like I was putting my baby to bed and tomorrow I'll get my grown up girl from her room and drive her off to school. I know this is a little dramatic, but hey, I'm lonely so crazy thoughts can float through my head right now. Tomorrow I'll be sure to post pictures of my big 4 year old going off to preschool!! She is so excited I bet she won't be falling asleep for a long time! :)

Paisley's First Dance Recital

May Fete
Tonight was May Fete. It is basically the only fun that things goes on here once a year! The whole week has a lot of fun things going on. There is a carnival in one of the parks. Tonight and tomorrow are May Fete which is basically a big talent show in which Paisley's dance class participated. Friday is a holiday here and there is a huge parade and tons of activities all over McPherson, including a great petting zoo featuring some exotic animals! Yay for the week of All School's Day! We wait for it all year round. (* On a side note, I believe May Fete is also a cursed two days. There has been, for the past three years, tornado warnings on these days and today was no different. I spent a long time on the phone crying to Jason (who didn't heed my call to come home) while me and kids were downstairs in the basement praying and hoping our home would be spared. The sound of tornado sirens is the most horribly scary sound I have ever heard! Luckily the tornado touched down east of us by the freeway, it crossed the freeway and then headed for some other small town 15 miles away. Is there any wonder I want to get out of here?)
This was on our way to the performance!! About two weeks ago something clicked with Paisley and she decided she wasn't scared to perform in front of a lot of people, so she was really looking forward to this!

This is all the girls in her class. We ended up stalling the beginning of the program because this picture started out as just about 5 of the girls and eventually everyone got in on the picture!

*Another side note: I always thought we had a good camera until tonight and realized that the dumb thing couldn't focus on Paisley because of how far she was from me! Now I hate that camera! Luckily we also brought the camcorder so yeah for a clear picture of the whole event! But I can't upload that onto the computer so you get the fuzzy one. Paisley is second one in from the right, Maisie is last and Paisley is next to her.)

Sew Fun!
These are my two newest projects! Last night we had an unofficial relief society sewing class. It was a blast. I learned how to use an easy pattern. I made these pajama shorts for paisley last night. Then this morning I went to my friend's house and she taught me how to make this super cute skirt!! It took about 2 and a half hours to make the skirt today. We also wanted to add pockets but ran out of time. I'm really excited to fill paisley's closet with lots of cute new skirts!!

For Traditions Sake
If you recall when Paisley was almost 1 month old we spent our first Thanksgiving alone. as we were getting the turkey ready we noticed that she was smaller than our turkey so we got a picture. Now as we have another baby near Thanksgiving we thought we should compare Jarom to our turkey this year. He is definitely bigger than our bird! Happy Thanksgiving!!

Paisley's birthday and our fun week
Okay get ready for a long post. This week has been very fun but very busy. We first start out with Jarom being as cute as can be!
Monday night we carved our pumpkin for FHE. It was a lot of fun. We went with a simple design this year since we had a couple nights of frost and made our pumpkin a little bit squishy.
On Tuesday the kids were able to wear their costumes to dance if they wanted, so Paisley decided she wanted too. She makes for a cute leopard!
Wednesday night was our ward party. We all got dressed up for the occassion but we unfortunately didn't think to take a picture since Jason and I were in charge of the activity we were a little busy doing other things. We are going to put on the costumes again so we can get a family shot. (SPOILER ALERT: since you have seen the kids costumes, this years theme was the zoo. Jason and I were zoo keepers, Paisley was a leopard and Jarom a giraffe.)
Today Paisley had a great birthday. She loved all the letters and phone calls and especially all the sing to her. She was very happy to turn 4 and now considers herself to be "big". Here she is with her pile of presents.
She was much more than thrilled to get a lot of princess things for her birthday including a lot of dress up things!
Later in the evening our town had the annual trick or treat on main street and town carnival at the community building. Before heading to the festivities we went to Papa's favorite place (Braums) for ice cream!
Despite the rain this town party's hard for Halloween. We went trick or treating to all the stores even in the rain.
After a long day of celebration we came home to sing "Happy Birthday" and eat her princess cake. After the huge amounts of ice cream we had consumed earlier we all had very tiny pieces.
We've had a great week, with lots of fun. We are so happy to have Nana and Papa here. Paisley had a fabulous birthday, and we are excited to see how year 4 goes!
