Thank Heaven for Nursing!

Today was my joyous six week appointment (you can probably sense the sarcasm, since most of you know how much I love taking my pants off for anyone!) The first dreadful thing on the list of things that happen at your six week appointment is getting weighed. Obviously I am down some weight... at least 7 pounds 10 ounces of weight. I got on the scale and to my joyful surprise I'm down 20 pounds!!! YAY! I gained 28 pounds so only 8 to go for normal and more for a bonus! That was the happy news before I was violated and as Jason says "got my deck swabbed" (he thinks he's funny, but if it happened to him he wouldn't be laughing I bet!)

I also am lucky enough to have a bladder infect, although just minor, peeing makes me want to cry. My doctor called me in a perscription but we weren't on top of things and didn't get to the Walmart pharmacy until 30 minutes AFTER they closed. I was almost in tears knowing I'd have to go another night in pain (although I've had this for almost 3 weeks so you'd think I be used to it). Anyway, yay for nursing, the best diet around. When I get home from vacation next week I plan to resume my workout that died when I started my morning sickness. I'm actually pretty excited to get into it.

This next week is my family reunion and I plan to stuff myself silly, and hopefully Jarom will survive. He doesn't handle chocolate well, so it's not going to be a pleasant week for him. I have been off chocolate for about a month with only having a tiny bite of it 4 times in the past month. That is INCREDIBLE for me, but next week I'm not going to be so nice. Mylicon city here we come! :)

Yeah, Right!

Last Friday evening we decided to eat out at an undisclosed fast food restaurant. This is the side of the bag. I think it very, VERY funny the phrase they chose to put on the side of the bag along side the grease that rubbed off the fries. Silly!

Our Life Lately

Here are a few updates of what's been going on here lately:

Jarom is beginning to enjoy bath time more. He seems to like to have his hair washed. Also if you notice his belly button has some dark color to it. He has an umbilical granuloma (scar tissue from the umbilical cord that oozes) so we took him to the doctor and they put some stuff on it to help it to fall off.As a result of having to go to the doctor again he was weighed again and he has grown. He is up to 10 lb. 8.5 oz. He is on a roll!
As we have been getting ready for the family reunion we have taken the car seats out of the car so we could vacuum and such. Paisley has loved having her car seat in the living room and keeps strapping herself into it and then becoming stuck. It's pretty funny.

Just Thinking...

I'd like to stray from my favorite topic (my cute kids) for the moment and talk about something silly, but that still has me all worked up... Jon and Kate plus 8 (at our house it is now referred to as Jon OR Kate plus 8) Anyhoo, I'm sick of these two playing the martyr and saying that everything they are doing it for their kids. PLEASE! Spare me! Going on a book tour and leaving your kids with babysitters isn't what's best for your kids. Cheating on your wife isn't best for your kids. Staying on a TV show that is destroying your family because you want to make tons of money isn't best for your kids. Why not try some counseling?

I'm also annoyed and find it humurous at the same time that their egos are so big to think that the paparazzi will also follow them forever. If they were to cancel their show after a season or two people would be like "Jon and Kate who??" The entertainment world is a fickle world. Out of sight, out of mind. They are pretend celebrities anyway. Jon not being able to be "Jon [he] has to be Jon and Kate plus 8" wouldn't always be. they would be forgotten quickly, because TLC would have to replace them with something else. However, now that they are getting divorced the poor kids will inevitably be messed up from this and their fake child stardom and wind up on some version of "where are they now?"

I'm very disappointed that TLC is condoning their awful behavior by continuing on with the show. When they canceled their marriage they should have canceled the show. Shame on you Jon and Kate!

I got a Whopper!

Yesterday we had to stop by the doctor's office to get a look at a rash he has. While we were there they needed to weigh Jarom. Boy have we caught a whopper! He is now a big 9 pounds 10 oz. I can't believe how big our baby is!

Enjoy the Pretty Colors!

(The title of this post is more funny if you are big King of Queen fans like myself.) It has been 5 years since I graduated from college. I now have a jumbled mess of knowledge about Marriage, Family and Human Development swirling around in my head and being made into new "facts" (that is, who knows what is real and just from my head anymore) So one thing I may or may not remember is that babies can see black, white and red. I decided to make Jarom some pictures to look at while he is getting his diaper changed and clothes changed so before he starts to scream he has the option to be entertained first. So far he has seemed to enjoy them. He also is coordinated enough to scream and look at them at the same time (boy, did that backfired on me.)

In other news we have been experiencing ch ch ch changes (is that a song or something?) We have been comparing Jarom to a new car a lot lately. For example, when Jarom came home from the hospital we said he "lost his new car smell" really his baby smell just adapted from the hospital soap and lotion smell to our soap and lotion and laundry detergent smell. He does still smell like a delicious baby, just different from the beginning. Then last week Jarom "got his license plates"... his cord fell off (with the help of some force from the doctor since it was hanging on by a thread) If he were a car when his cord fell off it would have been the temporary tags expired and the permanent license plate was there to stay. Notice in the top picture you can see his cute outtie belly button. We love our cute Jarom who is sadly and more quickly than we want becoming a not-so-new baby!!

Busy

We've been busy these past 3 weeks. We've had two grandma's come to play.

Paisley and Mommy got a haircut.
We've gone swimming in the backyard.

We celebrated a very fun holiday.

We've eaten lots of ice cream!
Jarom turned 3 weeks old! (We love his crazy hair! It is curly after a bath and so if you don't comb it right away, this is what you get!)
We have had a very fun and busy three weeks! Time flies when you're having fun!
