Peer Pressure

I have decided to succumb to peer pressure and post a picture of pregnant me. I cannot promise I will ever do this again so enjoy. While I was taking a picture, Paisley wanted to take a picture of the baby in her tummy also. She is so cute!!

I am 27 weeks and 5 days. I went to the doctor today and things are good. With her handy dandy tape measure she said that I am measuring a week small, but I don't think a tape measure is an exact science. I also do not feel small at all. I feel at max capacity, but the doctor assures me I will get a lot bigger... yay! She also said that as I enter my third trimester I need to watch my carbs. WHAT?? So I guess I cannot continue my crazy donut habit if I hope to have a reasonably sized baby. I will have to start trading my donuts for fruit which are acceptable carbs. Big bummer!

Well there you have it. Enjoy it because you won't see it again unless you come to visit before the end of June (or middle if I have something to do with it!) :)

We are LITERALLY Snowed in!

The worst part is we don't have milk!!! Now if worse comes to worse we have some powdered milk, but I think there are a couple members of this family that will trek on foot to the nearest gas station hoping they have milk before we go there. It has now snowed for many, many hours. The snow itself is only about a foot to a foot and a half deep. It's the drifts that have us stuck at home. The drifts around our house are at least 4 feet high. That would be some seriously digging if we wanted to get out of here. Most of the streets in our neighborhood are not driveable either. I assume our car wouldn't make it to a main road that has hopefully been plowed. It is supposed to keep snowing until this afternoon. I'm very glad I wasn't a pioneer. I'm very happy to be snug and warm in my house with my heater running. I have a great supply of cocoa, and we have power, so woohoo! I also have enough supplies to make chocolate suckers for 60 people (which I was going to take to all the primary children tomorrow... I think there won't be church though) So we can definitely have fun making some for ourselves!
Being snowed in shouldn't be too bad at all. If you ever wanted to call us, today would be the day that you know you wouldn't miss us... we'll be here... all day it looks like. Probably tomorrow also! :)

Severe Weather

I hope this doesn't kill our spring garden! Kansas has the craziest weather!

UPDATE: This picture was taken at lunch

Here we are 4 hours later. It is snowing like crazy! I'm afraid we may have to bid farewell to out tomatos. We have had such a mild winter I thought we would be safe putting them in early. I guess not!

You Hurt Me Bad.... Chocolate!

I am a lover of junk food. Junk food in all shapes, forms and sizes is definitely my favorite thing to consume!! Above all there is chocolate (not shocking since I'm one, a girl and two, pregnant!) The pregnant part is where we have a problem though. Chocolate and pregnancy don't fit together like pieces of a puzzle. I have this puzzle, and I'm forcing the chocolate piece to fit. So what if I need to bend a little bit here and there to get it to fit. The problem is chocolate cause me some severe heart burn. I am willing to endure I little heart burn for the sake of yummy tasting food, but the intense pain that chocolate causes is beginning to not be worth it (SHOCK! Did I really just type that?) I am afraid that I may have to back off of that little bit of heaven until wubbzy (That is what I call the baby) is born. Perhaps I will begin to limit myself to one thing chocolate a week. Good luck to me, I hope I survive this! :) Good thing my family reunion is AFTER wubbzy is born. I plan on buying a Sam's Club box of caramellos and not sharing!!!! That will definitely be one great car ride and one great week with the fam (I love being with my family, but adding 36 caramellos into the mix doesn't hurt either!) MMmmmmmm hurry up July!

Spring Garden Time!

Over this past week we have been planting our garden again. So far we have peas, garlic, onions and tomatos! Paisley has so much fun helping plant everything. She always want to go out and water it and check to see if it has grown yet. We can't wait to start enjoying salsa and other yummy food courtesy of our garden!

We Love to Paint

Paisley loves to do arts and crafts. Her favorite activity by far is painting. We got some new water colors and went to town a couple days this week. She had a blast. She does seem to favor a couple colors so those paints are now gone. Looks like she'll have to move on to different colors now. (Ignore the out dated table cloth. The one we usually use ripped and we haven't bought a new one yet, so we are stuck with winter frosty's for now)

Free* Jewelery Site

This morning a yahoo news article was about tips on getting things for free. I read through the article not very impressed with anything. Most of the sites were like freecycle where you just trade with other people or give stuff away for free because you hope to find someone that has something you want for free. Then towards the bottom of this article it mentioned the Silver Jewelery Club. When you go to this website they have 4 pieces of silver jewelery up with a timer on it and you can order these pieces for free. Now free really means you pay $6.99 for shipping, but besides that you don't pay for the actual piece of jewelery. The reason they are basically giving these pieces away is to spread the word about this site and the club because they are new. I think it is a great promotion. I put up a ticket on my side bar that will flash current pieces they are selling if you are interested you can click on that banner and it will take you there, or click on the link in this post to visit their site. I'm pretty excited! I'm going to pick a favorite piece and order it and I'll let you know how it all goes!! Enjoy!

Preparing to be a big sister

BEFORE AFTER

To start to prepare Paisley as well as our room for the new baby we have started making changes. Paisley has been very attached to her changing table, so we thought the sooner we get it out of her room the better. Since the changing table was also her dresser it needed to be replaced. We found a cute, inexpensive dresser and decided that would look darling in her room and just her right size. She loves her new dresser. We haven't put the changing table in our room yet, so I don't know how that reaction will be but I'm sure she'll be ok. She is turning into such a big girl with her very own dresser. We also put a lower hanging rod in her closet so she now can pick out her clothes, get herself dressed and hang her clothes up by herself. She loves being able to be so helpful and independent!

100 Days... SCORE

I just looked on my side bar and realized that the baby is due in 100 days! That's awesome. That means tomorrow we'll be in the double digits. Hooray! Let's get the time flying and get this thing out of me!

Death by Potty Training

Oh the potty... what more need I say? We have been half heartedly trying to potty train Paisley for months. Outside influences kept telling me that it would click naturally with her eventually so don't pressure her too much. I thought by now it would have definitely clicked, but with no such luck. She is pretty willing to pee in the toilet but when it comes to number two we are having difficulties. So last week when we ran out of diapers I was fed up and joked that we weren't buying any more diapers. Then at our weekly trip to Walmart they also were out of the diapers we needed so that sealed our fate. Jason and I both had to jump on board pretty quick and get serious about potty training. We have been doing this for about 3 days now. Paisley is good at holding number two, especially now that she is wearing pull ups. I have told her time and time again that pull ups can't handle poop so don't even think about pooping in them. She is being stubborn. We have made a sticker chart so she gets a sticker with each pee and with each poop. When she fills up a row of stickers on the pee chart she gets a treat. For now with poop every time she poops she'll get a prize and we will gradually diminish that. This weekend when jason is home as backup we will put on panties and attempt to make that transition. I need jason as the calming influence when she inevitably pees on my white carpet. We will have lots of towels down, but whenever we have tried this in the past she has been spot on missing the towels.

I am happily taking suggestions, advice and helps. Please help this trial pass from us with as little nastiness as possible.

I Heart The Office

I LOVE the show The Office. I love my DVR for allowing me to see episodes past and present at anytime of day. I came across this on someone else's blog and needed to document it on my blog so I could watch it whenever I wanted!! Love ya!!

Taking a Break

I have been diligently working on a cross stitch quilt for the baby. My mom always makes quilts for her grandchildren and the fabric she picked out was a Noah's Ark fabric. I have been wanting a project of my own, but I don't know how to do too many things. I don't know how to sew, or knit or anything of those types of things. I did however find a pre-quilted blanket with a stamped cross stitch pattern on it. I was able to find a Noah's Ark one and so I bought it. I have been working on it for about a week now. It is coming along slowly but surely. I am taking a break from it right now because I realized that I messed up on the roof of the ark and that frustrated me, so it's time to walk away. I usually work on it during Paisley's quiet time or at night when Jason and I are downstairs watching TV or something after Paisley is in bed. The TV is probably why I messed up on the roof. I haven't done too many cross stitches in my day so I'm not sure if I should try to cut the messed up part out and start the whole roof over or if I have the skills to try and make it work. We'll see but I'm pretty annoyed with myself at the moment.

Anyway, yesterday I have another doctor appointment. I was really looking forward to it because I got to have another ultrasound. When I went to the hospital to have the majoy ultrasound where they look at everything they couldn't find the baby's kidneys. They weren't worried about it because there is plenty of fluid in there, but they still needed a picture. My doctor has an ultrasound machine in her office and so when she uses it she doesn't charge me! (Thank heaven! It's expensive!) So she checked everything out again and was able to find his kidneys. I had to check to make sure it is really a boy and it is! That's good. He is measuring right on and the computer said my due date is June 25, which we've known all along. I'm glad that he is average. For now him being in my womb, average is good, because above average would mean a giant baby, which I don't want to birth. He was so cute yesterday, moving all around. I love to see him. I wish I had another reason to get another ultrasound. Maybe something will come up. (Nothing bad though)

Life hasn't been very interested, hence the lack of posting. I do have a cute picture of Paisley I need to post when I feel like tracking down the camera. Plus everyone else seems to be able to put their ultrasound pictures on their blog, so I'm gonna have to figure that out. Until then.... bye for now.
