A doubley special day

Not only is it our 10th Anniversary, but it is our baby's BIRTHDAY!! After having lots of contractions yesterday and through the night it looked like we were going to share a special date with our baby boy. Things went really fast once we got to the hospital and our baby was born at 9:00am. He was 7 pounds, 7 ounces (same as paisley) and 19 3/4 inches long. He is sooo adorable! So without further ado, here are some pictures of our (still nameless) baby.

Quick Christmas Crafts

IMG_0089IMG_0088This week we all were sick so we had a couple sick days and today we are having a snow day. Needless to say I had some time to kill with the kids! Luckily I also have some random crafty things hanging around the house so we were able to come up with a couple fun activities. First we made Santa hats. Since our refrigerator isn't magnetic we decided to hang them from our white board!

Today for our snow day we decided to make snowmen... inside, in the warmth of our house!

IMG_0096IMG_0097           IMG_0098IMG_0102   We glued buttons on for eyes, mouth and on the snowman's jacket. We colored on a carrot nose. I cut up scraps of fabric and added a scarf for each snowman. The kids thought it would be fun for the snowmen to wear their Santa hats, so I taped them to the wall under their Santa hats. We have had some fun craft days this week!

Early Anniversary Celebrations

We were lucky enough to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary early this year. Mom Cornwall flew out to watch the kids so we could have some time away. We went and spent the night in downtown Kansas City and ate... A LOT!

These lovely flowers were waiting in our room. I've never received a dozen roses before, it was super fun!

While we were away the kids had a great time with Grandma making crafts and gingerbread houses!
It was an early morning taking Grandma to the airport but the kids were happy to go and get some final moments in. Luckily she will be back in a month when baby hulk (no we are not really naming him that, he doesn't have a name in case you have an opinion!) is born! :)

Paisley's Party

This year we decided to have a big party for Paisley's 7th birthday! We had a Halloween carnival complete with fun games and yummy food! (sorry this one didn't rotate on it's own) We had Witch Pitch in which you would throw candy corns into the little containers.
Witch hat ring toss was a big hit. It was super fun and yet challenging! It's off to the side because we first had a rousing game of GHOST (although you may call it BINGO).

Candy nose drop. This was very funny to watch, but the kids did really well at it!

Pumpkin bean bag toss. This was a BIG hit as well!
Frankenstein's Fishin' hole is always a fun one. Towards the end of the party kids started catching two prizes and there were flying fish!! Fun times!

We also had a Caramel Apple station. I had previously dipped the apples and provided toppings for the kids to decorate the apples. They tasted pretty yummy if I do say so myself!

We had 6 different colors of chocolate, pumpkin sprinkles, bone sprinkles, and other random Halloween sprinkles.

An arts and crafts table for those interested. We had coloring pages and foam pumpkins to decorate.

Paisley was very lucky with her gifts. Her friends were very generous with her.

After gifts it was time for cupcakes!

Candy nose drop pros!

Jarom would yell BINGO every time he succeeded at any game. It was pretty cute.

After the party, the pumpkins tried to eat Jarom, but we rescued him! :)

I don't think we're in Kansas anymore

This year we decided to go with a Wizard of Oz theme. Paisley was a lovely Glinda. I did not want to be a green witch! :)
Jarom made a perfect cowardly lion. The first party in his costume he was very shy and stuck close to Jason.
 Jason makes an adorable scarecrow!!
Jarom was so cute he won the Best Animal Costume away at our ward party!!

Worlds of Fun

The day after I got back from Hawaii it was Jason's company picnic at Worlds of Fun! The kids LOVED all the rides!

Hawaii Report

All the girls surprised Mom and spent 5 days in Hawaii checking out Mom and Dad's stomping grounds!! It was pretty amazing!
We surprised Mom at the airport. She new Leslee and Shelley were coming, but didn't know about Martissa and me! I've always wanted a real flower lei!

Saturday we took out a pontoon boat to a sandbar and could walk in the middle of the ocean. It was pretty amazing!

We took a quick tour of the Dole Pineapple Plantation and had a pineapple whip for a treat! yum!

We visited the sea turtles sun bathing on the beach. They had a friend keeping people back so this is as close as we could get.

We listen to Dad's Ukulele skills and received a lesson!

Ate world famous Shave Ice from Motsimoto's! Yumm! I got Strawberry/ Pina Colada with ice cream on the bottom and sweet condensed milk on top!

Spent time (but NOT enough time) at the PCC. I loved the canoe parade with all the different islands doing their dance.

Visited the Macadamia nut farm. It is tricky to crack a macadamia nut with a rock and get it out whole!

Back to the PCC for dinner.

We didn't get to attend a luau, but I couldn't miss seeing them take the pig out of the pit!

Everyone ready for dinner! Mom and Dad just got off their shift.
We ate dinner at the Prime Dining restaurant. Those crab legs were yummy!

After Leslee and Shelley were off to the airport, Martissa and I still had several hours to kill before our overnight flight so we went out to the USS Arizona Memorial. It had a really neat museum that we walked through. It was pretty amazing!

Then we took an adventurous drive on the Tantalus loop. We got a great view of Diamond Head and Waikiki. After the loop we went and drove around Diamond Head.

We crammed all this and MUCH MORE into 5 days! It was pretty fantastic! Thanks Mom and Dad for a great trip!
