2 Weeks

I'm not sure how two weeks have flown by but our super cute Jarom is two weeks old! He is so fun to be with. His favorite activities include throwing up, pooping and peeing all over everything. Paisley loves to hold him and kiss him. She doesn't like it when she has to leave him alone when he's sleeping. We have loved the last two weeks and wish we could push pause on his life.

It was a birthday full of new things: new haircut (I've never had it this short before), new age (can I still claim mid-twenties?) and best of all a new baby!!

Todays Activities

We had a busy day today. We first had a visitor. Then we took some pictures on his cute Jarom blanket a nice lady in the ward made him.

Later after Daddy was home from work we took a drive to the bank. (I couldn't flip this picture for some reason.) Jarom's fingernails are growing so fast and keeps scratching himself. It is pretty sad!

After dinner and the car trip we made some yummy dessert. Paisley was the pudding stirrer.
Then we took Jarom outside for the first time. He seemed to like it, although it was REALLY hot. We watched Daddy picking up the branches from our tree that had problems during the tornado storm on Saturday.
Paisley was the lucky one to pick our first tomato off our plants.
Jason had a lot to clean up today. He had a friend come over and use his chainsaw to cut down all the broken branches. We are getting them stacked up for easy removal. Our huge tree now looks somewhat naked with all that fell during the storm. We're glad none of them landed on our roof.We can't wait to see what tomorrow brings with pretty princess Paisley and sweet Jarom!

Happy Father's Day Daddy

Jarom wishes you a Happy Father's Day by letting you take a nap with him!!

We've been dying to line up Jarom with all of Paisley's babies and see where he fits in!

I was so lucky to catch a couple of his super cute smiles this morning while me and him were relaxing at home and everyone else was a church. He is a sweetheart!

Pronunciation People!

The education in the US is definitely lacking when adults do not understand vowel to consonant relations. When you have a name like Jarom the O does NOT make the long O sound. My baby's name is NOT JAROME it is Jarom (which phonetically could be spelled Jairom). To get a name like Jarome you need the E at the end to make the O say it's name. Jarom is all short vowel sounds. Thank you for listening to this English lesson, now say my baby's name right!

Cute Baby Jarom

Life is sure fun with a little bitty baby around. Jarom (NOT Jarome!!!! I'm sick of this already.) is such a joy. He has really mellowed out since his hospital stay. After tons of blood tests his bilirubin has gone down and they should stop using him as a pin cushion! At the doctor yesterday he weighed in at 7lb 6.5oz. He is doing really well and life is happy here!
Jarom's first bath!
He is a good sleeper!
Coming home from the hospital!

On another note, here is what Paisley has been up to:
It's hard being a princess and a big sister!!

Still at the Hospital

As much as Jason and I want to go home Jarom thinks the hospital is fun so we are here for at least another 6 hours (UGH!) This morning to doctor thought he looked a little jaundice and so he got his biliubin tested and it was too high to pass the go home test. Right now he has to "cook" in the lights for 6 hours and then get his blood tested again. We really hope that by then his levels will have dropped and we can get home.

More Jarom

Paisley loves being a big sister, she always tells us that she will hold him a lot.

Trying to get some air bubbles out of Jarom's tumy.
It looks like Jarom might like a binki just as much as his big sister.

Everyone is doing great, we just need to get Jarom nursing regularly so we can go home today, other wise it will be tomorrow.

Jarom Spencer Cornwall

We are very happy to welcome Jarom Spencer Cornwall into our family. He came into our family at 6:10pm after 10 minutes of pushing. He is 7 lbs 10 oz and 20 1/2 inches long with lots of dark brown hair.

Proud Daddy loving holding his first son!
Proud Mommy holding Jarom for the first time.

Jarom has some big feet, which mommy can attest too with all his kicking!
Jarom didn't appreciate all the nurses efforts to clean him off and check him to make sure he is healthy. He has quite a powerful set of lungs!

Our first family photo. Paisley loves being a big sister and is very proud of her "big sister's rock" shirt. She loves Jarom very much. She likes to kiss him, touch his head and hold him with Daddy's help. We are so happy that things went well and that Stefanie is doing so well. Compared to Paisley delivery this was a piece of cake!

Update....

Epidural is in and the water is out.

More updates to follow.

The Baby's Coming

We have been here at the hspital now for 6 hours. Things are going slowly but surely. I had one dose of some pill that has started contractions and I am about to get put on pitocin. So far things are good. I'm very much looking forward to having my IV taken out and getting to eat!! Hopefully with the pitocin things will pick up a little fast now! Paisley and my mom are off having fun at the library and are planning a fun trip to Dairy Queen for some ice cream. So far so good... If anything else fun happens we'll be sure to update!

Lasts

This week we have used the word "last" a lot. It started on Monday with this is the last Monday we will be a family of three. Then Tuesday it continued as with every other day this week. On Tuesday night I went to Enrichment and drove down with several ladies in our ward. As we were getting out of the car to get in our own cars and go home we were talking about next time and how I would have a nursing baby to bring, this was the last time for me to really enjoy enrichment alone for a while. Today as Jason was going back to work after lunch he said "this is the last time I'll leave you at lunch to go back to work with only 1 child." All these lasts are kind of sad for me. Every night when we are laying on our bed with Paisley reading bedtime stories I start to get a little emotional. I have loved our little family of three. It is so fun! I hope that Paisley knows how much we love her even when wubbzy comes and it seems like he is taking all the attention. Plus, I haven't figured out where wubbzy is going to fit into our bedtime routine. There doesn't seem to be anymore room on our bed at story time. I bet Paisley will find him a place though!
Tomorrow my Mom comes into town to begin her 2 weeks of help. Her and Paisley have a special bond so hopefully that will help her to deal with wubbzy. They will have lots of fun together while Jason and I are in the hospital. They have plenty of activities planned and I'm trying to get some crafts gathered that they can work on together. We are very excited and nervous for the next three days. While all of these "lasts" are sad we know they are opening the way to a bunch of "firsts" that will be even better!

Firey FHE

On Monday night a family in our ward invited a bunch of families in the ward over for smores to say goodbye to our bishop and his family. It was a fun time. A lot of families came and we enjoyed eating junk food and fun conversations. The bugs weren't too bad so we were really able to enjoy the whole evening. Paisley had a lot of fun with all the friends that were there.

We are GO for Launch! Week 38 OB

Well this morning we went to the doctor for our final check up. I got checked out and I am a "1 and a wiggle with a soft cervix". Yay for my body! I was hoping to have better news than that, but at least we are on our way. I am to be at the hospital at 5:30am on Monday to begin the process. It sounds like it could be a long process. They will stick some pill up there to get things softened and I have to lay in bed for an hour and then I can walk around or do whatever for 3-4 hours and see if things get started and then if they need to they will start the pitocin. We are hoping the hospital has WiFi so we can blog through the whole thing... or some of it. I'm pretty nervous since I can tell this baby is a good size. I was hoping he would be kind of small since we are forcing him out 10 days early, but I don't think we will have much luck there. I predict he will be bigger than Paisley (7lb 7oz) We'll see in 6 DAYS!

Hutch Zoo

This past weekend we decided to venture to Hutchinson to the zoo because it is free. We have been to many zoos in Kansas and we have yet to hit this one. Paisley of course was very excited! When we showed up it was very apparent why the zoo is free. They had about 10 animals in total at the zoo and it only took about 20 minutes to walk through. Jason made a very cute prairie dog (the only prairie dog) and only in Kansas would you find a cow milking demonstration at the zoo. Jason was brave and milked (actually watered) the cow. It was pretty sick!

WANTED

This cute, although very naughty rabbit (and I think 2 of his friends( often come and visit our yard. We don't mind them coming. They sleep and hop and around and eat our grass and weeds. We have convinced Paisley that she has a pet (so we don't have to really have one) so they are welcome. Well, many weeks ago I went out to talk to the garden and most of my peas were all eaten down to little stumps! I was furious. This ungrateful rabbit stepped out of bounds and started eating the garden. These bunnies got a second chance and we let them back into our yard. This time we would keep a very watchful eye on them and if they went towards the garden we would chase them out. They once again struck when we weren't watching the peas got eaten. These bunnies are no longer welcome in our yard. They can eat someone else's grass and sleep in someone else's shade. Whenever we see any bunny now me and Paisley run outside and chase it out of our yard!! BAD BUNNY!Jason and I don't mind the work of planting a garden, it is keep up with it that is hard for us. As you can tell we are at peace with the weeds in our garden! :) Yesterday for FHE we did go out and weed the garden area as best we could, especially around the peas. As we were pulling the weeds (and Jason did accidently "Weed" one of our little pea plants) we noticed that our peas had started to come back from the nuaghty bunnies lunch date and we were growing some peas. Paisley and I were able to enjoy about 5 pea pods with some delicious sweet peas inside. It was so fun! Peas are my favorite so I was hoping to have a ton of peas this year but most of our seeds didn't ever grow. We are excited for what we do have after the bunny trama!

I'm an Aldi's Lover

For all you that live in the far west of the US Aldi is a discount grocery store. This is a very special grocery store. It is exactly like the grocery stores we went to in Germany. When you go, you never know what your gonna get. That means that no two trips to Aldi are ever the same. One week they will have a product, and the next week they may not, but whatever they have, they have it at an incredible price! This is not a fully stocked grocery store, they have a lot of products but we usually have to finish up our shopping by stopping by another grocery store. Regardless of the quirks of Aldi's it is an amazing money saver! We have to drive a half hour to get to an Aldi's so we usually go every other week, but stocking up at Aldi's isn't too painful on your checking account. The produce at Aldi's is always incredible. The fruits are delicious and veggies divine. Another one of Aldi's quirks is that you do need to stay on top of eating your produce because it usually only has a couple days before it goes bad, but that is no matter. This week they had strawberries for 88 cents! Incredible right?! We bought two cartons of them. I'm usually the only strawberry eater around here so I was little worried, knowing I only have a couple days to down the berries before they go bad, but one bite into my first Aldi's strawberry and I was in heaven. They are way better than the Walmart strawberries could ever hope to be!! Downing all those berries won't be a problem, and I think I'll even get some help from the others since they are so very sweet and yummy. I know this is kind of a funny post, but I am on an Aldi's high and just needed to share!! I love you Aldi!
